He is on the road in search of IPSC Gold and you can follow him
IPSC World Champion, Travis Tomasie has left the U.S. Army where he was manager of the Army Marksmanship Unit’s Action Shooting Team and has joined TEAM PARA. Before departing the AMU, Tomasie received the Meritorious Service Medal from Col. Mark Rado, Commander of the U.S. Army Accessions Brigade in August.
The medal was presented to Tomasie for his meritorious achievements during his time in the Army’s Marksmanship Unit. The Seattle, Washington native won countless USPSA Area Championships, multiple USPSA National championships and the IPSC World Championship as a member of the Army’s Action Shooting Team. He served as military coach of the AMU Action Shooting Team. On Army ranges he personally trained hundreds of U.S. Army soldiers in close quarters marksmanship before they were posted overseas.
The former Army Sergeant was pursued by many firearms manufacturers when he decided to return to civilian life. After serving with the USAMU for eight years, Tomasie selected PARA USA as the company he wanted to join as a professional shooter.
Tomasie chose to work for and represent PARA USA because their high capacity pistols give him the expert choice he needs to defend his National and World Championships. His choice of pistol for USPSA and IPSC competition is a PARA 16-40 Limited.
Tomasie said, “I am extremely proud to represent PARA and fill the position formerly held by the legendary, Todd Jarrett. I chose PARA USA because of their incomparable commitment to quality and innovation, and my love for their pistols. I am excited by the amazing new firearms that are to be released soon.”
On his first outing in the black and white PARA uniform he dominated the Limited Division competition at the recent USPSA Area 3 Championship where he won 8 out of the 10 stages.
The path to victory and a second IPSC Gold Medal at World Shoot XVI in Rhodes, Greece is not an easy one. He will be shooting the USPSA Limited 10 and Limited Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada before going to Greece for the IPSC World Shoot.
You can follow Travis both during training at home and on the road as he shoots these demanding courses of fire against the best action shooters in the world. Travis will be Tweeting with tips on how he trains and the challenges he faces in USPSA and IPSC competition.
